Just because the leading investment firms have largely pulled back from Frontier and Emerging Markets (FEM) doesn’t mean opportunities have gone away. In fact, if you have a critical eye, an open mind, and a patient mindset, plenty of investment opportunities still exist in virtually every corner of the globe.

Self-serving leaders and governments, disastrous policies, and economic turmoil will always be factors within emerging nations—and frankly, among developed countries, too—but the difference between words, deeds, and delivery help define the core elements to investable opportunities.
